Hey there, darling! So this is going to be what my weekly posts will tend to look like! Hopefully this will flow, and make sense, and I can keep this up :)
Part 1: Where I Am? Right Here!
Ha ha, I kid! I'm currently in Utah for winter break, resting pretty well! Today was pretty rough because I'm exhausted, and fatigued, and very very shaky. It's really not so great, but I'm pushing on and plowing forward! I'm really excited right now for blogging, and for the writing I've been doing, and other things I've discovered lately (see below), as well as (drum roll please)... Christmas! This is the first time that we'll celebrate in Utah instead of at home, which is new but alright by me! I'm getting a guaranteed white Christmas, stress free! I haven't skied yet, but I have plans to Tuesday (yes, Christmas Eve!) because my mom and I are splitting a lesson.
Not that I particularly feel like skiing. Strapping on planks of wood and hurtling down a mountain? Oh yeah, totally relaxing! But really, it'll be nice to get back on the mountain!
Part 2: Getting Crafty
So the grocery store where we shop out here has this section for magazines, which I usually just walk past ever since I got over my love for Zac Efron and stopped caring about anything that a teen magazine we're not already subscribed to could say, but when my mom offered for me to pick out a few magazines, and I remembered something online about things people should do if they're bored that said buying a magazine that you've never read before was on it, I jumped at the chance and picked up a copy of a yoga magazine, a tea magazine for my sister, and, most importantly, a magazine called Make It Vintage, which gave decorating inspiration and easy DIY crafts focused around a vintage look. I absolutely loved it, especially since I plan on entirely cleaning out my bedroom when I return, and really wanted to spruce it up anyways.
The problem is, now I really want to do that. Like, now. So I've kind of driven my family crazy, first rearranging the ornaments on the tree to make them more even than when I first hung them, then rearranging the mantle over our fireplace and TV. But it really does look better now.
Part 3: Ronald Reagan
My dad gave me access to his Amazon account so I could read a book on my iPad called "Rawhide Down" that was absolutely amazing. I've become pretty obsessed with reading presidential-related books. This one was absolutely amazing, and really interesting! It follows President Reagan the day of the assassination attempt, giving details from before and after, and showing how everyone involved was feeling and what they were thinking, and everything that went on. Tomorrow, I'm going to go get a book about John F. Kennedy, and I'm pretty excited about it!
Speaking of Reagan, the quote this week is from Ronald Reagan!
"When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat." Definitely a good quote :)
